ADDY Awards looking for entries

The ADDY Awards are calling for entries.

Held each year by the local chapter of the American Advertising Federation (the American Advertising Federation -- Suncoast), the 2010 ADDY Awards is accepting submissions on Jan. 15 from noon to 6 p.m. and Saturday, Jan. 16, from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.

All entries must be submitted at Coastal Printing, 1730 Independence Blvd. in Sarasota.

For more information on the competition guidelines, rules, fees or to download an entry form, visit addycompetition.com, or e-mail info@aafsuncoast.com.

The awards recognize the "best of the best" in the industry by awarding winners in virtually all forms of advertising. The awards attract more than 60,000 entries and are regarded as one of the largest advertising creative contests and the only advertising competition that includes three rigorous levels of judging: at the local level, regionally and then nationally.

Winners of the local competition will be celebrated at the ADDY Awards Gala on Feb. 27.

Gold winners automatically move on to the district competition.

Last year, the local district received 6,583 ADDY entries.

"In spite of reduced advertising and marketing budgets, creativity has seemed to climb in this economy," says Lori Diamant, ADDY Awards chairwoman. "As a result, advertisers have had to find ways to make more out of less and we're looking forward to seeing all the different ways our local creatives have made this happen this past year." –Staff report
